As in so many young adult series, these books must be read in sequence and should be thought of as one story. After their mother dies, twins Paul and Anne Marie (Ari) are sent to live with their Aunt Gabrielle. Her love for them is genuine and she feels it important that they be given an appreciation of their heritage. Like Gabrielle, their father is a vampire and the twins have the natural special quality that will allow them to make the change. The twins are both horrified at first, but Paul eventually is seduced into the vampire world. This entertaining series moves at a brisk pace and has some splendid, eccentric characters. |
